1955!

DARN IT... I WANT SOME FREE GOLD MICKEY MOUSE EARS FROM DISNEYLAND!

(I just saw on the news that the California theme park turned 50 years old today. They gave out free gold ears. I feel REALLY old... I can remember when it opened!)

I've never been there, but christinA has! ;^p*
I've been to Disneyworld several times though, but not since they opened a lot of new areas like the MGM stuff. The last time I was there they were still opening new stuff in Epcot Center!

-----------------------------------------------------------

Oh yes... and I really, really want to go see the Toulouse-Lautrec exhibit at Art Institute! I was reading about it in The Times and The Chicago Tribune today. I love his work!
At least that is do-able!

(Yes... Robert laid out the articles for me!)

Woah... anyone heard of a place called Cereality??? It's a CEREAL and coffee bar. I guess it's a chain? They just opened one in the Chicago financial district. It sounds great actually! You get to mix your own combinations of TONS of kinds of cereals and toppings.

Cereal bar?? Interesting.

If we end up going to Disneyland in a couple weeks, want me to get you something (besides gold ears)? :-)

That is very sweet of you! Maybe just a postcard? That would make me happy! :^) Maybe they have special ones for the anniversary?

christinA brought me a little sterling Tinkerbell charm from there when she went (at age 16).

Wow now I could go for that. Sometimes cereal is all I want to eat. I wonder if they post the calorie content. That helps me when we go to fast food restaurants to stay within my calorie count. Randy laughs because I have found most places nutrition on the web and know each restaurant by the food items I can eat:>.

Good for you for making that effort! I don't know if they post that information or not. I want to go and find out! :^)
Yes, sometimes just cereal to eat is nice.

I had Mickey Mouse ears when I was a kid. YOu know you're old when you are four years older than DisneyLAND!

Oh, the Mickey Mouse ears I had were plain old black felt. I thought, back in those days, that if I broke the glass on the TV screen the Mouseketteers would come out of the television and play with me.

Jeez. I'm old.

I was 8 when they opened DisneyLAND. I actually remember it happening!

I read that cereal bars are going to be the new big thing. College students so often like to eat cereal and they're capitalizing on that.

My brand new husband used to give piano lessons when the Mickey Mouse club was on TV. Kids didn't want to schedule their lessons at that time because they were hooked on Mickey.

Me too!
I especially liked the little series shows that they had on the club... like "Spin and Marty". :^) (That's the one that I can remember at the moment)

Oooh! Toulouse-Lautrec exhibit in Chicago???? I want, no, NEED, to go!!!

I´ve never been to the CA Disney either. Anything has to be better than tropicaly humid, hurricaney Florida!

Actually, I loved Disneyworld and Epcot even more!

Yes, it sounds like a good exhibit! I think it goes on until October 10.
